Bicycling Routes
Menominee River Century Loop - (25, 50 or 75 Miles)
Established as one of the Midwest's finest bicycle rides, the Menominee River Century Loop is familiar to most bicyclists. There are three loops available: a 25 mile loop is completely flat, the 50 and 75 mile loops have some rolling hills.
A convenient starting point for all three loops is Marinette City Park. Camping is available in the park and motels are a short bicycle ride away.

25 Mile Loop
Located south of the cities of Marinette and Peshtigo. Highlights include:
50 Mile Loop
75 Mile Loop
Coleman / Pound Connectors
Mostly low traffic roads and combines open areas and woodlands. North of Hwy 64 there are a few steep hills.
Crivitz Loop - (12 Miles)
In the Center of Marinette County, this is a pleasant loop for the less ambitious cyclist. The terrain is rolling and is on mainly lightly traveled roads.
Parkway Road / Thunder Mountain Loop
This route includes some of Marinette County’s finest scenery, consisting of the 21 miles Thunder Mountain Loop and an outback ride on Parkway Road. CAUTION, traffic on Parkway Road may be heavy at times.
Parkway Road – (40 Miles)
The paved portion of Parkway Road winds for over 40 miles from its origin on Oconto County. It travels by six county parks, numerous waterfalls, lakes, streams and resorts. The route travels near two raft companies which offer raft trips on the “Roaring Rapids” section of the Peshtigo River – one of the finest stretches of white water in the United States.
The 26 mile portion of Parkway Road from County W north to Goodman has been designated a Rustic Road. Parkway road does include some hills, but is not exceptionally hilly. Convenient starting points are Veteran’s Park, Twin Bridge Park, and Gillis General Store or the Silver Cliff Town Hall on the corner of County C and Parkway Road.
Lower Parkway Road
South of Highway C. Highlights include:
Upper Parkway Road
North of Highway C, the road surface can be a bit bumpy and some sections are gravel, but the scenery more than compensates. Highlights include:
Thunder Mountain Loop – (20 Miles)
Convenient starting points are Twin Bridge County Park or Veteran’s Memorial Park. Highlights include:
Pike River / Four Seasons Loop – (30-50 Miles)
These two loops stay together for the first 8 miles after Amberg. Convenient starting points are Wausaukee, Amberg or Dave’s Falls Park. Highlights include:
The Four Seasons Loop – (45 Miles)
Highlights include:
Pembine / Amberg Loop – (32-45 Miles)
Unknown to most bicyclists, this loop is Marinette County’s buried treasure. It links Twelve Foot Falls and Dave’s Falls passing by lakes, creeks, woodlands and waterfalls. The route is consistently rolling but most are not large hills. Highlights include:
Add in the Morgan Park side trip to enjoy scenic / peaceful Timm’s Lake at Morgan Park. Travel a few miles further and view Marinette County’s tallest waterfall, Long Slide Falls. Another mile will take you to Smalley Falls. Map

Mountain Bike Trails

Thunder Mountain Trails
A three mile network of trails on top of Thunder Mountain affords spectacular views. Trails are wide and not technically difficult, but include significant elevation gain and loss. The largest climb is 150 feet. Trail maps are posted at each intersection. Map
Lake Noquebay Trails
Comprised of single track trails, this ride includes a few short climbs. The entire system is about 5 miles in length. Trail maps are posted at each intersection. Esker Loop in the northern section may be too wet to ride much of the year. Using the road or backtracking easily bypasses this section. Marsh Spur is usually too wet to navigate on a mountain bike.

Peshtigo River State Forest
Although there are not designated areas for mountain biking in the Peshtigo River State Forest, the forest is open to this activity, except during winter months when snowmobile trails are open. Mountain bikers may use the snowmobile trails and angler access roads to test their skills. In total, there are over 35 miles of trail riding for mountain biking. This includes the numerous volunteer trails located throughout the forest. Please note these trails are shared with equestrian riders and mountain bikers should yield the right of way to let horses pass. Please respect private landowners and do not trespass. Map
Riverside Park Trails - Niagara (5.5 Miles)
Located on the northern end of the City of Niagara, you can access these walking trails from Highway 141. Take Washington Avenue east about 1/2 mile to Tyler Road, turn left at the 4-way stop. There are three trail heads along the est side of Tyler Road with parking. Take time to hike, bike, cross country ski, or snowshoe in this pristine area. Enjoy the wooded beauty of the seasons along these trails from the upper ridges overlooking the Menominee River Valley or down along the river and wetlands. Map Other Niagara Bicycle Routes. Map
